The Role: More Than Just a Maths Tutor!
This is no ordinary teaching role. As our Lead Maths Tutor, you’ll be the driving force behind high-quality maths education across our training centre network. You’ll teach, mentor, and support—stepping in to provide maths tutor cover when needed and coaching our fantastic tutor team to be the best they can be.
🚗 Flexibility to travel across the Midlands is essential.
📍 Locations: Brierley Hill, Telford, Walsall, Wednesbury and Wolverhampton.
What You’ll Be Doing (Other Than Being Amazing)
✅ Deliver engaging, high-quality maths lessons (Functional Skills & GCSE)
✅ Support and mentor tutors to supercharge their teaching skills
✅ Mark, assess, and provide constructive feedback that actually makes a difference
✅ Encourage attendance and retention (because showing up is half the battle!)
✅ Safeguard student welfare, promote British Values, and provide tailored support (including SEND)
✅ Plan and deliver fun, interactive group training sessions
✅ Conduct student assessments, reviews, and mock exams
✅ Handle some admin (we promise, just the important bits!)
Who We’re Looking For (AKA Our Perfect Maths Mentor)
You’ll be:
✨ Qualified – You must hold a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent)
✨ Experienced – You know your stuff when it comes to Functional Skills & GCSE Maths
✨ Dynamic – Adaptable, proactive, and ready for anything
✨ Engaging – A natural people-person who can make maths exciting
✨ Organised – A multitasking pro who keeps things running smoothly
✨ Flexible – Happy to travel and step in wherever needed
What You’ll Need:
📌 A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or equivalent)
📌 Experience delivering effective group training
📌 A solid understanding of student needs and how to support them
📌 Confidence with IT for teaching and admin
📌 A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for making a difference
